Each year WYS processes thousands of kilos of British wool; every spin leaves an excess amount of material that would usually wind up as ‘waste’. WYS loves their wool, and they don’t like waste! So, they've given it the revival it deserves.
WSY starts by collecting all this valuable and perfectly good fibre which is gathered after each clean down of their spinning frames. Next, they send it to their local production partner to card, comb and convert back into tops before it arrives back at the mill for spinning. This spun yarn then heads out again to be dyed locally, and once dyed, it’s back to them for finishing, balling and packing. Sustainability is at the heart of everything they do, and all of this takes place within a 10-mile radius – something which they're extremely proud of.
