Steek This! Learn to cut your knitting

Have you wondered what the big deal is about cutting open your knitted project? Are you very afraid of this technique? Let us help you! In this two session class you will learn colorwork in the round on magic loop, cutting your knitting, and picking up stitches. Kit available for purchase for $12.50. Classes are Saturdays, April 11 and 18 from 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Lacy Spring Knit Along

It’s time to think spring and summer projects, therefore we are hosting a knit along for a summer top. You can choose between Xyris by Audrey Borrego or Arisu by Svetlanna Volkava. Both are bottom up and have beautiful lace details. Xyris uses fingering weight yarn and Arisu uses sport weight yarn (I used Cascade Botanika). Come find the perfect yarn and be ready to cast on Saturday, April 11 at 10:00 a.m. Sessions will run through May 30.

Knitting 101 Class

Always wanted to learn to knit? This class is for you. Jared Hanson will teach you the basics of knitting in this two session class. You will learn to cast on, knit, purl, and cast off your first project, a dishcloth. Materials will be provided. Classes are Thursdays, April 16 and 23 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Your First Sock Class

Learn all the basics of knitting socks in this beginner friendly class. Our instructor, Jared will walk you through cast on to bind off. You will learn about fit, heel flap and gussets, as well as grafting. This is an advanced beginner class. Classes are Saturdays, May 2, 9, and 16, 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Two at a Time Toe Up Socks Class

Second sock syndrome? Learn to knit two socks at a time using the magic loop method. Mary Enright will walk you through a toe cast on, turning a heel with gusset and heel shaping and binding off for a toe up sock. This class will be every other week so you have time between to finish homework. Thursdays, May 7, 21 and June 4, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Drop Spindle Class for Beginners

Come learn how to take fluffy wool and make it into fun yarn by spinning on a drop spindle. This small tool is compact and portable to keep spinning while walking, riding in a car, or relaxing with other fiber friends. This class looks at the physics of how the fibers being spun work to make yarn, drafting and spinning in both low- whorl and top-whorl methods; along with plying and setting your yarn. Material supplies for $20 include a spindle, a few different types of wool, and written directions to take home. No experience needed. Saturday, May 16 from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Knitting 101 Class

Learn to Crochet Class

Anna Flowers of Knotty Flowers will teach you the basics of crochet in this two session class. In the first class you will learn about yarn and hooks and how to make a chain and single crochet. The second class will cover 1/2 double and double crochet. Materials will be provided and includes a Pocket Guide to Crochet by Jen Lucas. Classes are Thursdays, June 11 and 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
